Project Description:
This project is an implementation of a Student academic information & registration system. The application will be used by students, instructors, teaching assistants, course coordinators and admins. Information such as the students' department, GPA, course, ID, current semester, rank, and advisor, etc. will be stored in the database and can be viewed by the user when needed. Similarly, data will be saved for the instructor, department, course, etc. The student will be allowed to register during the registration period. Moreover, the student will be able to check their grades, attendance, course schedule, exam schedule, and curriculum. They will also be permitted to order their transcripts online.
The instructors can also view the information concerning their courses and department along with the basic profile information. The instructors and TAs can add grades and attendances for the courses but the TAs will require authorization from the teachers first. They can also see exam percentile of the scores, allowing them to analyze the data and teach effectively. Only instructors can schedule exams and the course threshold can only be set by Course Coordinators.
This application provides a platform where the students and teachers can more effectively and efficiently coordinate in an educational environment.In summary, the SAIRS database system is meant to provide a more organized and efficient environment for its users.
